Mission Statement of the Internship:

To be a familiar point of contact for each client, building that close, trusting relationship with each and every client-touch. To be the liaison between the client and the attorney. To be the right-hand person for the attorney and a contributing member of the Wood Legal Group team with the over-riding goal that Wood Legal Group, LLP is to be known as the pre-eminent elder law and estate planning law firm in area.

Internship Description

All team members are an important part of Wood Legal Group’s public image. As the voice and one of the first faces in the office, the Intern is one of the clients’ first impressions of the firm. On the phone or meeting clients personally, the Intern should always have a smile on their face and in their voice. They should be courteous and portray eagerness and a willingness to help in whatever way possible – going beyond the stated needs of clients, and anticipating ways to deliver a “WOW” experience.  The duties required of this “job” consist very much of what might traditionally be considered office assistant, but also includes what may be considered the traditional roles of production paralegal, proofreader, event planner, and marketing guru.


To excel at this position, you must be internet and computer savvy. You are self-reliant and know what it means to meet deadlines and work independently. We can give you projects and trust that you will get them done. You ask questions when needed, but don’t make excuses. You show up when scheduled. You want to be successful and you know that success is not due to luck or anything else, but rather, hard work and learning new things every day. Success is no accident.

Ideally, you understand social media, SEO, blogging, video editing, and YouTube. You have basic video editing experience and knowledge of PowerPoint. To be successful right out of the gate, you would have experience publishing materials online using a content editing system such as WordPress or similar.

Pleasant, warm personality, energetic, highly professional attitude, appearance and attire, and team-oriented. Excellent verbal communication. Loves to work with people, particularly elderly people. A strong background in customer service is preferred. California Notary and non-smoker a plus.
