The plans we offer
The difference between these plans is large, in what they do for your family and in what they cost. So we name and explain each one here, and share pricing for every plan at the end of our free webinar, once you understand the differences.
Simple Will
A will, plus the core documents every adult needs: a durable power of attorney and an advance health care directive. A will still passes through probate, so it suits families with modest assets and no real estate.
Complex Will
A will that does more, including a trust for minor children that holds their inheritance until they are older. For parents, we recommend a trust first, and we explain why in the webinar.
Probate Avoidance Trust
A revocable living trust that keeps your home and accounts out of probate, with a pour-over will, powers of attorney and health care directives. The right fit for most homeowners and families who want their loved ones spared the court process.
Generational Wealth Trust
For families building wealth across generations: real estate, businesses, larger estates and inheritances you want protected for children and grandchildren long after you are gone.
One deed transferring your home into your trust and the notary signing of your plan are included with every trust plan.
When you engage the firm, your fee is confirmed in writing in your Legal Services Agreement.
- The engagement fee is paid when you sign your Legal Services Agreement.
- The final 20% is due before your final plan is mailed.
- If planning is paused for more than three months, a $1,500 fee applies to resume.
Probate, trust administration and conservatorships
California sets statutory fees for probate based on the size of the estate. Trust administration and conservatorship fees depend on the work involved, and we explain the options at your strategy session. Successor trustees can choose a self-guided course, guided support at key steps, or full representation. Pricing for each is shared in our free Successor Trustee School. Phone calls and emails are billed in tenth-of-an-hour increments where hourly billing applies.
How to pay
We send every invoice through LawPay, where you can pay by card or eCheck. You can also pay by Zelle to Portia@woodlegalgroup.com. Please put your name and invoice number in the Zelle memo. Payment plans are available through LawPay. A 3% processing fee applies to all credit card payments.
